Five-Year Limited Frame Guarantee

Last updated: 27 July 2026

At Oasis Home & Garden, we carefully select our garden furniture for its quality, comfort and durability.

Selected products are supplied with a five-year limited guarantee covering the structural metal frame. This is a commercial guarantee provided in addition to your statutory consumer rights.

Please read these terms carefully and retain a copy with your proof of purchase.

1. Who provides the guarantee?

This guarantee is provided by:

Alfresco Investments Limited t/a Oasis Home & Garden
Unit 85 Ringwood Road
Poole
Dorset
BH14 0RH

Email: info@oasishomeandgarden.co.uk
Telephone: 01202 130607

2. Products covered

The five-year limited frame guarantee applies only where a five-year guarantee is expressly stated:

  • On the relevant product page;
  • On your invoice or order confirmation; or
  • In other written information supplied with the product.

Not every product sold by Oasis Home & Garden includes a five-year guarantee. Please check the individual product description and your order documents.

3. Duration of the guarantee

The guarantee begins on the date the furniture is delivered to the original purchaser and continues for five years from that date.

The guarantee applies only to the original retail purchaser and is not transferable to another person if the furniture is sold or given away.

If a product or component is repaired or replaced under this guarantee, the repaired or replacement item will be covered for the remainder of the original five-year guarantee period. A repair or replacement does not start a new five-year guarantee period.

4. Territorial scope

This guarantee applies to qualifying products purchased directly from Oasis Home & Garden and originally delivered to an address within the United Kingdom.

A customer making a claim must make the furniture reasonably available for inspection, repair or collection at the original UK delivery address or another reasonable UK address agreed with Oasis Home & Garden.

5. What does the guarantee cover?

The guarantee covers manufacturing defects in the furniture’s structural metal frame that arise during normal domestic use and materially affect the furniture’s:

  • Structural stability;
  • Safety; or
  • Intended function.

Examples of a potentially covered frame defect may include:

  • Failure of a structural weld;
  • Cracking or breaking of a load-bearing metal frame section;
  • Serious distortion of the structural frame during normal use; or
  • Structural corrosion caused by a manufacturing defect.

Every claim will be assessed individually. The existence of damage does not automatically mean that the damage is covered by the guarantee.

6. What is the structural metal frame?

For the purpose of this guarantee, the structural metal frame means the fixed, load-bearing metal framework that supports the furniture and its intended users.

Unless expressly confirmed otherwise in writing, the structural metal frame does not include:

  • Synthetic rattan weave;
  • Rope, fabric or textile panels;
  • Cushions or cushion covers;
  • Glass or ceramic surfaces;
  • Tabletop materials;
  • Powder-coated surface finishes;
  • Paint or decorative finishes;
  • Screws, bolts and other removable fittings;
  • Hinges, runners and brackets;
  • Reclining mechanisms;
  • Gas struts;
  • Lift-and-rise mechanisms;
  • Fire-pit components;
  • Burners, hoses, regulators or ignition systems;
  • Parasol mechanisms;
  • Protective feet, caps or floor pads; or
  • Other moving, replaceable or non-structural components.

7. What is not covered?

The five-year limited frame guarantee does not cover:

Normal use and weathering

  • Normal wear and tear;
  • Gradual fading or discolouration;
  • Normal weathering or ageing;
  • Cosmetic marks, scratches or dents;
  • Changes to the appearance of surface finishes;
  • Minor surface oxidation that does not affect structural integrity;
  • Mould, mildew, condensation or staining;
  • Expansion, contraction or movement caused by temperature changes; or
  • Natural deterioration that does not affect the frame’s structural safety or function.

Materials other than the structural frame

Unless expressly confirmed otherwise in writing, the guarantee does not cover:

  • Synthetic rattan weave;
  • Cushions, fillings or cushion covers;
  • Glass;
  • Ceramic or sintered-stone surfaces;
  • Wood or wood-effect components;
  • Rope, fabric or textile materials;
  • Paint, powder coating or other finishes;
  • Fittings, fasteners and moving mechanisms; or
  • Electrical, heating or fire-pit components.

Damage or improper use

The guarantee does not cover damage caused by:

  • Accidents or impact;
  • Misuse, abuse or neglect;
  • Excessive weight or overloading;
  • Sitting or standing on tables, armrests or other unsuitable surfaces;
  • Moving, dragging or lifting the furniture incorrectly;
  • Incorrect assembly or unauthorised alteration;
  • Repairs carried out without our prior written approval;
  • Commercial, rental or public use unless agreed in writing;
  • Failure to follow the supplied assembly, care or safety instructions;
  • Abrasive, corrosive or unsuitable cleaning products;
  • Pressure washing or steam cleaning;
  • Fire, extreme heat or proximity to a heat source;
  • Flooding, storms, high winds or other extreme weather;
  • Falling objects, animals, pests or vegetation;
  • Contact with chemicals, fertilisers, salt water or chlorine;
  • Poor storage or inadequate ventilation;
  • Covering furniture while it is wet or dirty; or
  • Leaving water, snow, leaves or debris to accumulate on the furniture.

8. Outdoor use and UV resistance

Garden furniture is designed for outdoor use, but no outdoor material is completely immune from the effects of sunlight, moisture, temperature changes and severe weather.

Where a product is described as weather-resistant or UV-resistant, this means the material has properties intended to reduce the effects of normal outdoor exposure. It does not mean that fading, discolouration, weathering or deterioration can never occur.

UV resistance, weather resistance and suitability for outdoor use do not extend the five-year structural frame guarantee to the rattan weave, cushions, glass, finishes or other excluded components.

However, this limitation applies only to this commercial guarantee. It does not prevent a customer from exercising statutory rights where any part of the furniture is faulty, not of satisfactory quality, not reasonably durable or not as described.

9. Furniture care requirements

Customers must take reasonable care of the furniture and follow any product-specific instructions supplied.

To help maintain the furniture:

  • Clean it regularly using mild soapy water;
  • Do not use abrasive pads, solvents or harsh chemicals;
  • Remove dirt, leaves and standing water;
  • Store cushions clean and dry indoors when not in use;
  • Do not leave cushions outdoors during persistent or heavy rain;
  • Use a correctly fitted, breathable furniture cover during extended periods of non-use or severe weather;
  • Ensure the furniture is clean and dry before covering it;
  • Maintain adequate airflow beneath any cover;
  • Secure or store furniture safely during high winds and severe weather; and
  • Inspect and tighten appropriate fittings periodically.

Failure to follow reasonable care and maintenance instructions may affect a claim where that failure caused or materially contributed to the reported problem.

A claim will not be rejected solely because a customer did not purchase or use a furniture cover.

10. How to make a claim

To make a claim, please email:

info@oasishomeandgarden.co.uk

Please provide:

  • Your full name;
  • Your delivery address;
  • Your order or invoice number, where available;
  • The product name or model number;
  • The approximate delivery date;
  • A clear description of the problem;
  • Confirmation of when the problem was first noticed;
  • Clear close-up photographs of the affected area;
  • Wider photographs showing the complete item;
  • Photographs of the underside and supporting frame;
  • Details of how the furniture has been used, stored, cleaned and maintained; and
  • Any other relevant information reasonably requested to assess the claim.

Your invoice or order confirmation is normally the quickest way for us to locate your purchase.

If it is unavailable, we may accept other reasonable proof of purchase, such as a bank or card statement, provided the purchase can be identified.

Please report a potential defect as soon as reasonably possible after discovering it. Continuing to use furniture after discovering a serious structural issue may worsen the damage or create a safety risk.

11. Assessment of a claim

We may assess a claim using:

  • The information and photographs provided by the customer;
  • The product’s age and condition;
  • Its expected characteristics and intended use;
  • Its maintenance and storage history;
  • A remote video inspection;
  • An inspection of the furniture;
  • An authorised repairer’s assessment; or
  • An independent expert report where reasonably necessary.

We may ask for further information before deciding a claim.

Customers must not dispose of, dismantle, modify or arrange unauthorised repairs to the affected item while a claim is being assessed, unless this has been agreed with us in writing.

Where an inspection is required, the customer must provide reasonable access to the furniture.

12. Evidence after the first six months

The guarantee remains available throughout its stated five-year period.

However, the age of the furniture and the available evidence may be relevant when determining whether an issue was caused by a manufacturing defect, normal wear and tear, external damage, misuse or inadequate care.

Where reasonably necessary, we may ask the customer to provide additional evidence about the cause of the problem.

Nothing in this section changes the legal rules that apply to a customer’s separate statutory consumer-rights claim.

13. Remedies under the guarantee

If we accept that a qualifying manufacturing defect is covered by this guarantee, Oasis Home & Garden will provide an appropriate remedy.

Depending on the nature of the defect, the age of the furniture, product availability and the proportional cost of the available options, the remedy may include:

  • Repairing the defective frame;
  • Replacing the defective structural component;
  • Replacing the affected item;
  • Providing a suitable equivalent item where the original model is unavailable; or
  • Offering another reasonable resolution agreed with the customer.

The guarantee does not automatically entitle the customer to:

  • Replacement of the complete furniture set where only one item or component is affected;
  • A brand-new replacement where an effective repair is reasonable;
  • An identical replacement where the original product is no longer available;
  • Replacement of unaffected items;
  • A cash refund; or
  • Compensation for inconvenience, loss of use or consequential loss.

These limitations apply only to remedies offered under this commercial guarantee. They do not limit any remedy the customer may be legally entitled to under their statutory consumer rights.

14. Replacement products

Where the original product, colour or component is no longer available, we may offer the nearest reasonably equivalent product or component.

Variations in colour, weave, finish, design or dimensions may occur between products manufactured at different times.

Where a proposed alternative is materially different, we will explain the difference before proceeding.

15. Costs of an accepted claim

Where a claim is accepted under this guarantee, Oasis Home & Garden will cover the reasonable cost of the repair, replacement, agreed inspection and any collection or redelivery arranged by us as part of the approved remedy.

We will not reimburse costs incurred without our prior written agreement, including:

  • Unauthorised repairs;
  • Unauthorised inspections;
  • Storage charges;
  • Disposal costs;
  • Third-party collection or delivery costs; or
  • Alterations made by the customer or another business.

This does not affect any right to recover reasonable costs that a customer may have under consumer law.

16. Unsafe furniture

Please stop using the furniture immediately if:

  • The frame has cracked or collapsed;
  • A structural weld has failed;
  • The furniture is unstable;
  • A component has become detached; or
  • Continued use may create a risk of injury or further damage.

Contact us promptly and provide photographs of the issue.

Do not attempt a structural repair unless we have authorised it in writing.

17. Items purchased as ex-display, clearance or imperfect stock

The guarantee applies to an ex-display, clearance or imperfect item only where a five-year guarantee was expressly included at the time of purchase.

It does not cover a fault, mark, defect or imperfection that:

  • Was specifically brought to the customer’s attention before purchase;
  • Was clearly described on the invoice, product listing or sales documentation; or
  • The customer inspected and accepted before purchasing.

The guarantee may still apply to a separate qualifying structural manufacturing defect that was not disclosed or reasonably apparent at the time of purchase.

18. Commercial use

Unless expressly agreed in writing, this guarantee applies only to products used for normal domestic purposes.

It does not cover furniture used in:

  • Hotels;
  • Restaurants;
  • Pubs;
  • Holiday accommodation;
  • Offices;
  • Care homes;
  • Rental properties;
  • Events;
  • Communal areas; or
  • Any other business, trade or public setting.

Please contact us before purchasing if the furniture is intended for commercial use.

19. Your statutory rights

This five-year limited frame guarantee is provided in addition to your statutory rights and does not replace, restrict or affect those rights.

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, goods supplied by a retailer must be:

  • Of satisfactory quality;
  • Fit for their normal or agreed purpose; and
  • As described.

Depending on the circumstances, customers may have legal rights to reject faulty goods, request a repair or replacement, receive a price reduction or exercise a final right to reject.

Those rights may apply whether or not a problem is covered by this guarantee and may continue after this commercial guarantee has expired.

For independent information about consumer rights, customers may contact Citizens Advice or their local Trading Standards service.

20. Governing law

This guarantee is governed by the law applying in the part of the United Kingdom where the customer lives.

Customers retain the right to bring proceedings in the courts available to them under applicable consumer law.
